This site is dedicated to providing support and information to families and those who experience one or more of the range of conditions associated with the autism spectrum.Commonly these will be Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, and ADHD.

Information on these conditions can be obtained through the National Autism Society.

It may also include the effects of conditions such as Dyslexia and those who experience problems with attachment disorder as many of those in the ADS grouping have multiple problems.

The site aims to offer guidance on where help is available, what benefits are accessible and provide a forum for families to share their common experiences.

Those with ASD often have special educational needs. In Somerset the aim is to meet SEN requirements through main stream education. This is in contrast to many other education authorities who now realise the need to provide special schools to meet the more extreme needs of ASD suffers. As such Somerset Education is extremely reluctant to issue Statements of Educational Need.

There is information on this site to help you to pursue a Statement of Educational Need if that is appropriate.

We provide a Forum for parents and carers to share information about how best to handle ASD and how to obtain help.
